A ghost walk showcasing Cheadle's history and local stories will run on four dates in October 2026. The walks take place on 19th, 21st, 26th and 28th October at 6.15 pm and 8.00 pm.

Participants will meet at Greyhound Walk Cheadle, the paved area between Dougie Mac Home on High Street and Wardles Travel on Tape Street Car Park. Free car parking is available on Tape Street during these times.

What the walk covers

The walk is designed as an easy access route through Cheadle, a market town and civil parish with roots dating back to Anglo-Saxon times. It explores mysterious happenings reported along the roads, lanes and dark alleyways of Cheadle High Street.

Stories told during the walk range from ancient tales to more recent events. The accounts include stories shared by local residents alongside material from written and recorded sources.

The ghost walk is suitable for all ages.
