Julie Hassall, Methodist Minister at Wellspring in Cheadle, is leading efforts to develop a new community garden and allotments on Charles Street in the town.
Hassall was ordained in 2013 at Central Hall in London, an event she describes as extraordinary. Two busloads of people from her community travelled to support her. She has served as a minister in Staffs Moorlands for 16 years.
Speaking about her work in Cheadle, Hassall said she is trying to "raise funds and enthusiasm" for the Charles Street project alongside her team. The plan includes space for growing and cooking, a men's shed, and a tea station.
Hassall is calling for support from anyone interested in gardening or able to contribute funds to the project. Those wishing to get involved are encouraged to get in touch with her directly.
